Elon Musk, one of the richest people in the world, has achieved a big achievement. Elon Musk's brain chip startup Neuralink said on Tuesday that it got the first approval for implanting a chip in the human brain. This information has been shared by news agency Reuters.
For this, Musk's company has started the search for the first person, who will be recruited through a recruitment process. During this trial, the trial of the chipset will be started on paralysis patients.
Trial on such people
For this, people are being searched who have become paralyzed due to 'Cervical Spinal Cord' or have been affected by a disease like 'Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)'. However, no information has been received yet as to how many total patients the trial will be started in this study. It will take about 6 years to complete this study.
How will the research be done?
In this study, a robot will implant a brain computer interface (BCI) on the human brain after surgery. With its help, it will receive the chip move and intention and then give further commands. After this, devices compatible with that chipset will receive those commands and work further.
Mouse cursor and keyboard will work without touching
Neuralink told that their goal in the initial stage is to control the computer cursor and keyboard. This control command will be received directly from the chipset fitted in the brain. After this the cursor will start moving and typing will happen from the keyboard. For example, after a chip implanted in the brain of a paralyzed person, he will be able to move the mouse cursor just by thinking.
The chip can be the size of a coin
Neuralink has created a device, which can be the size of a coin. This chip can be known as Link. This device will give the ability to directly control a computer, mobile phone or any other device through brain activity (neural impulse).
